Where is Avalon?

Playing the tutorial.
There is a battle going down on Avalon.
But where is it?

Also, who is the enemy?

That's an odd one. Avalon is the name of a colony, Sirius of a(n uncolonized) system. Probably the Avalon colony in the Sirius system was somehow decolonized (destroyed?), and the colony's name reverted back to the star's name, which is the standard procedure.
There was one ground unit in the colony, according to the Resolve Battles window.

If each system can have only one colony why change the name of the star to the colony name on the star map? Doesn't it get confusing if all the stars on the star map switch names during the game?
If name switching of places on the map is a normal part of the game, why doesn't the resolve battles window also use the same name as is used on the map?
How can the colony be destroyed and still have ground units? Surely isn't hasn't been completely destroyed if there are still units?
